Counseling probiotic silage supplementation in rations on dairy cow productivityin Tajurhalang Village, Cijeruk District, Bogor Regency

The study aimed to analyze the level of knowledge and affective of farmers, analyze the effect of probiotic silage supplementation in rations on milk production of dairy cows and analyze the income of farmers. The methods used include counseling, applied studies, and business analysis. The extension method used appliedstudies, lectures, farmer visit, demonstrations and discussions. The number of respondents was 30 farmers from Mandiri Sejahtera and Muda Berkaya farmer groups whose knowledge and affective were measured bydistributing questionnaires. The study used 4 lactating cows divided into 2 treatments consisting of P0 = control(ration consist of king grass 40 kg, concentrate 6 kg, and tofu waste 6 kg) and P1 = ration consist of king grass40 kg, concentrate 6 kg, tofu waste 6 kg, probiotic silage 12 kg/day. The measured variables included daily milk production, milk quality and feed intake. The data were analyzed descriptively. Business analysis was conducted by calculating income, R/C ratio, B/C ratio, production BEP, price BEP and IOFC. There was an increase in knowledge by 37.50% (moderately successful and effective) and affective by 36.33% (moderatelysuccessful and effective). The results of the applied study showed milk production P0 = 12.93 l/day and milk production P1 = 14.81 l/day. The results of the business analysis showed that there was an increase in incomein P1 = Rp687,740, R/C ratio 1.12, B/C ratio 0.12, production BEP 13.17, price BEP Rp6,226, IOFC Rp38,477.50. There is an increase in knowledge and attitudes of dairy farmers in Tajurhalang Village which isshown by the results of counseling quite successful and effective. Supplementation of probiotic silage is able to increase milk production and increase farmers' income.
