Implementing a Lighting Program for Broiler Chickens in a Closed House System
Penerapan Program Pencahayaan pada Ayam Broiler di Sistem Kandang Closed House
Keywords:
Broiler Chickens, Broiler Chicken Performance, Lighting ProgramAbstract
This study evaluates the effect of lighting provided on broiler rearing management. The research method used experimental design and analyzed by t-test. The total population was 5,000 birds and 54 samples were obtained in each treatment with P0 (control, lighting given without any difference during one period) and P1 (lighting differentiated according to the needs of broiler growth phase during one period). The results of the study in P1 showed that daily body weight gain increased significantly (P<0.05) by 6.23%, feed conversion ratio decreased by 1.46% which indicated an increase in feed efficiency, mortality rate decreased by 5.05%, performance index increased by 7.49% compared to P0. The effect of applying the lighting program given according to the growth phase of broiler chickens increases the biological performance of livestock which shows the potential for its application in broiler rearing production.
